Recent Changes On Digital Media
The world’s moving at a rapid speed or I will say changing at a rapid speed. If we come to technology, everyday seems to bring a new thing for us. With social media spreading its branches day-by-day we are bound to use it to the brim. Social Media is the parameter of change. It seems like every day there’s some new feature or new technology that is taking the digital landscape by storm. Take it this way, if you skip to go through your Facebook feed for a day, next day it will seem like you are ages behind. There are many things to look out for and the only thing at which you can rely on today, the only thing which is your daily dose of information today and the only thing which is your favorite tool for high sales is Social Media.
If you are using Social Media for your brand promotion you need to be aware with daily technological changes:
1. YouTube gets a revamp for the first time
12 years the same design, but not now as YouTube added few colors to its wardrobe. YouTube got its biggest aesthetic makeover; it also got a new typeface, color scheme, and some other major changes, to the feel, and functionality of its desktop & mobile app.
2. What will happen to your Facebook account if you pass away?
You can select a trustful nominee for your Facebook account if the worst happens, your Facebook Legacy contact can take care of your account. The legacy contact will also have the access to download an archive of the deceased’s posts and photos, (exclude private messages)and they will not be able to alter posts already published on Facebook. As of now the service is available in the US.
3. Facebook has Removed their Apps ‘Lifestage’ and ‘Groups’
Facebook has removed two of its apps, High School chat app ‘’Lifestage’’ andcommunity-focused gathering place ‘’Groups’’
Lifestage was focused for under 21 years of age, allowing them to search fellow local high school classmates who go to the same school and chat with them through videos and selfies. This video-focused app had user profiles to show short clips of each user’s happyface, sad face, had features such as; likes, dislikes, best friend, favorite dance, and more.
4. Facebook launches Snapchat like stories
Starting its onslaught on Snapchat, Facebook launched the story feature of its users. This change was one of the major changes from Facebook till date. It included; a redesigned in-app camera, a new feed of momentary stories at the top of the News Feed, and a private messaging feature called Direct.
5. Instagram gives their story a more personalized push
Instagram enhanced their story feature with a new push when they upgraded an add-on to add live stories to our camera roll and then share them as regular Instagram videos.
6. Facebook rolls out the “Find Wi-Fi Feature”
Facebook enhanced one of its newest features designed to help mobile users find accessible Wi-Fi networks nearby.Facebook gave its users worldwide on both iOS and Android devices access to “Find Wi-Fi” feature. Through this you can find the nearby Wi-Fi connection.
7. Google upgrades its Google Map feature
Google updated its Google Maps for Android by adding three-new tabs to its map features which will display real-time info on nearby places, traffic conditions and public transit. This is in regard to personalising your location searches and making it easy for you to find a track. Each tab will have the following features; the places tab will show a curated list of nearby resto’s, ATMs, medical shops, fuel stations and grocery shops. From the driving tab users can get to see nearby traffic conditions in real-time, Tapping on the “start driving” option will prompt real-time traffic info during the route, the transit tab will display bus & train recommendations depending on the user’s saved home and traffic addresses.
